Jessica Benton Recognized

Jessica Benton, who teaches the TMD class at Underwood, has been selected to receive the Diane Kent-Parker Outstanding First Year Teacher for the Wake County Public School System. Glen Carozza from Human Resources came to Underwood April 23rd to present Jessica with the official notification. Ms. Benton was one of four teachers recognized from 156 schools in the county this year.


Underwood Recognized as a Magnet School of Distinction

Underwood GT Magnet Elementary has been selected for a Magnet Schools of America (MSA) Merit Award as a Magnet School of Distinction. This national award, given by Magnet Schools of America, is based on a commitment to high academic standards, curriculum innovation, successful desegregation/diversity efforts, and the consistent delivery of high quality education to students.
